Constantina co-led with Alejandro Andirkó (University of Barcelona, Spain) a project coordinated by Dr. Cedric Boeckx (University of Barcelona, iCREA, Spain) and Dr. Erich D. Jarvis (Rockefeller University, HHMI, USA), where variation on the oxytocin and vasotocin receptors was compared between modern humans, archaic humans (Neanderthals and Denisovans) and non-human primates. In this project, we focused on variation sites that have been functionally associated with sociality and social deficits (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder) in modern humans. You can read the study in Comprehensive Psychoneuroendocrinology!
